John A. Sterling: Executive Director

EXPERIENCE:
University Professor of Criminal Justice,Elizabeth City State University. Also: Adjunct Professor of Political Science for the Virginia Community College System. Formerly taught course in Sociology, Medical Law & Ethics, Computer Science for Tidewater Technical College in Chesapeake, VA, and for Tidewater Community College, also in Chespapeake, VA.
Law Enforcement: Patrolman, Detective and SWAT Officer in civilian law enforcement in Kansas and Colorado, and Platoon Leader of a combat Military Police Platoon (220th MP Company).
Military: Enlisted as a Fire Direction Specialist (Field Artillary) and then commissioned. Served as a Mortar Platoon Leader, MP Platoon Leader, Assistant S-2 (Intelligence Officer). Special training includes Jungle Operations and Terrorism Counter-action.

David R. Wills

EDUCATION:
BS, PA-C
David recently received his BS in Health Professions, summa cum laude, and is a licensed Physician Assistant. He is currently enrolled in Regent University as a joint-degree student in business (MBA) and law, and has completed several graduate courses in government.

EXPERIENCE:
David served as a forensic analyst with the Criminal Investigation Division of the United States Army, and was honorably discharged upon fulfillment of his enlistment. In the years following, David provided technical and engineering services in developing advanced machine and process control systems incorporating computer-based, high speed data acquisition systems, controls, and robotics.

AWARDS and HONORS:
David is married, and is the father of three children. He is interested in leadership training and in social infrastructure development constructed upon sound Biblical principles. His writing and public speaking encompass a broad range of subjects, and are presented to inform public perceptions and policies.


Craig M. Hudgins

Special Operations, U.S.Marine Corps.
Helicopter pilot, U.S. Marine Corps. (Combat tours in Grenada and Beirut.)

PERSONAL:

While in college I married my high school sweetheart, Kathi Kany. We have been blessed with four children, two girls and two boys, and we celebrate, by the grace of the Almighty, our 25th anniversary this year, 2000.

I continue as an adherent to the Catholic faith oriented by my faith in and personal relationship with my Lord, Savior and Brother, Jesus Christ. Through the constant concern and provision of our Father I am enabled and am unable to claim any accomplishment or skill heretofore described, outside of His deigning it so; nor anything in the future but through the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit.


Dwight Meekins

EDUCATION:
Dwight earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics from N. C. A & T State University, Greensboro, N.C., in 1971. While serving 29 years in the Military, Dwight completed Numerous speciality schools in the service: Machinist Mate (steam turbines) 12 weeks, Electronics Tech (complete shipboard radar systems) 60 weeks, Aviation Officers Candidate School (AOCS) 16 weeks, followed by 12 months of Navy Flight School. Others schools of shorter duration and too numerous to name / date all over his exemplary military career, but a few like; Cockpit Coordination Communications, Civil Rights, Human Relations, Sexual Harassment Prevention, and several Leadership seminars are provided as an example. Upon retirement from the military service, Dwight completed four courses in Information Systems Technology and graduated from Alpha College of Real Estate.

EXPERIENCE:
MILITARY
U. S. Navy enlisted and officer / pilot and U. S. Coast Guard officer / pilot from June 71 – June 93. Received Naval Aviator Wings Feb ’75 and remained in active flying jobs for the next 19 years. Flight Instructor at Naval Flight School (3years). Squadron’s instructor of the month and quarter several times and instructor of the year once (maintained high standards of instruction, but no longer eligible for award). First Coast Guard instructor pilot to be awarded the Pensacola Lion’s Club Instructor of the Year Honors. At several commands (Navy and Coast Guard) often the senior unit instructor pilot.
Associate Director of Admissions at the U. S. Coast Guard Academy from June 93 – May 96. In charge of the recruiting branch responsible recruiting the best and brightest high schools students from around the country.
Personnel Officer for the Maintenance and Logistic Command Atlantic (MLCA) from May 96 – June 00. Duties included handling issues of Housing, Work-Life, Civilian & Military Personnel, Temporary Personnel Staffing, etc. for Coast Guard commands throughout the 40 states east of the Rocky Mountins.
CIVILIAN
Dwight retired from active duty as a Captain (O-6) in June, 2000. He served as First Officer for Allegheny Airlines (US Airways Express) flying DASH 8 aircraft in 121 operations in the busy N.E. US sector (regularly in /out of LGA, IAD, BWI, PHL, BOS, etc.). Flying 3 – 7 legs per day, in 3 – 4 day trips. In August of 2001, Dwight completed his studies at the Alpha College of Real Estate and now is a licensed Real Estate Agent so that he may spend more time with his family.

Richard Hartwick

EDUCATION:
Richard Graduated from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, L.A., 1984 with a B.A. in Political Science/English and earned his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama, in 1990

EXPERIENCE:
Richard practiced law in Pennsylvania from 1991-1997 as a solo practiioner, doing business as Richard C. Hartwick, Attorney at Law. After moving to Virginia, Richard Practiced law with the firm of Davis & Brynteson, P.C., Associate, and in 2001, joined the firm of Basnight, Kinser, Telfeyan, Leftwich & Nuckols P.C, Associate. He is now a criminal defense attorney for the firm of John W. Brown, Attorneys, in Chespeake, VA.
In addition to sitting on the Board of Directors, Richard curently serves as chief counsel for the Law and Liberty Foundation and as the Foundation's registered agent in Virginia.
